Pinion MGU (FIT) error codes
The display shows the fault as two character pairs joined by a hyphen, for example 4D-03: the first part says which part of the bike is affected (0A–28 system and remote, 29–47 display, 48–66 motor, 67–85 and FF battery, 86–9E speed sensor, gears, charger and lock), the second is the detail your dealer needs. Where the list says xx, the explanation covers every code with the same first part.
Trolda reads live data from Pinion MGU (FIT) bikes. What Trolda shows on your bike
No code matches. Check that you typed it exactly as the display shows it.

| 0A-0B | Lock | The lock is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-01 | Motor | The motor is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-02 | Display | The display is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-03 | Battery | Battery 1 is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-04 | Battery | Battery 2 is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-05 | Battery | Battery 3 is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-06 | Battery | Battery 4 is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-07 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-08 | Gears | The gear unit is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-0A | Charger | The charger is not responding to the remote |
| 0B-0B | Lock | The lock is not responding to the remote |
| 0C-00 | Control unit | The system does not recognise the remote |
| 0C-01 | Motor | The system does not recognise the motor |
| 0C-02 | Display | The system does not recognise the display |
| 0C-03 | Battery | The system does not recognise battery 1 |
| 0C-04 | Battery | The system does not recognise battery 2 |
| 0C-05 | Battery | The system does not recognise battery 3 |
| 0C-06 | Battery | The system does not recognise battery 4 |
| 0C-07 | Speed sensor | The system does not recognise the speed sensor |
| 0C-08 | Gears | The system does not recognise the gear unit |
| 0C-0A | Charger | The system does not recognise the charger |
| 0C-0B | Lock | The system does not recognise the lock |
| 0D-01 | Motor | The motor failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-02 | Display | The display failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-03 | Battery | Battery 1 failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-04 | Battery | Battery 2 failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-05 | Battery | Battery 3 failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-06 | Battery | Battery 4 failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-07 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-08 | Gears | The gear unit failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-0A | Charger | The charger failed the authenticity check |
| 0D-0B | Lock | The lock failed the authenticity check |
| 0E-xx | Control unit | The remote failed the authenticity check |
| 0F-00 | Control unit | The software update of the remote failed |
| 0F-01 | Motor | The software update of the motor failed |
| 0F-02 | Display | The software update of the display failed |
| 0F-03 | Battery | The software update of battery 1 failed |
| 0F-04 | Battery | The software update of battery 2 failed |
| 0F-05 | Battery | The software update of battery 3 failed |
| 0F-06 | Battery | The software update of battery 4 failed |
| 0F-07 | Speed sensor | The software update of the speed sensor failed |
| 0F-08 | Gears | The software update of the gear unit failed |
| 0F-0A | Charger | The software update of the charger failed |
| 0F-0B | Lock | The software update of the lock failed |
| 10-xx | Control unit | Software fault in the remote |
| 11-xx | Communication | The battery and the remote cannot communicate |
| 12-01 | Motor | The motor is not paired with this bike |
| 12-02 | Display | The display is not paired with this bike |
| 12-03 | Battery | Battery 1 is not paired with this bike |
| 12-04 | Battery | Battery 2 is not paired with this bike |
| 12-05 | Battery | Battery 3 is not paired with this bike |
| 12-06 | Battery | Battery 4 is not paired with this bike |
| 12-07 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor is not paired with this bike |
| 12-08 | Gears | The gear unit is not paired with this bike |
| 12-0A | Charger | The charger is not paired with this bike |
| 12-0B | Lock | The lock is not paired with this bike |
| 13-xx | Control unit | Internal fault in the remote |
| 14-xx | Control unit | The remote is not set up correctly |
| 15-01 | Motor | The motor is not paired with this bike |
| 15-02 | Display | The display is not paired with this bike |
| 15-03 | Battery | Battery 1 is not paired with this bike |
| 15-04 | Battery | Battery 2 is not paired with this bike |
| 15-05 | Battery | Battery 3 is not paired with this bike |
| 15-06 | Battery | Battery 4 is not paired with this bike |
| 15-07 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor is not paired with this bike |
| 15-08 | Gears | The gear unit is not paired with this bike |
| 15-0A | Charger | The charger is not paired with this bike |
| 15-0B | Lock | The lock is not paired with this bike |
| 16-00 | Control unit | The remote does not belong to this bike (anti-theft protection) |
| 16-01 | Motor | The motor does not belong to this bike (anti-theft protection) |
| 16-02 | Display | The display does not belong to this bike (anti-theft protection) |
| 16-03 | Battery | Battery 1 does not belong to this bike (anti-theft protection) |

| 17-00 | Control unit | The remote reports itself as faulty |
| 17-01 | Motor | The motor reports itself as faulty |
| 17-02 | Display | The display reports itself as faulty |
| 17-03 | Battery | Battery 1 reports itself as faulty |
| 17-04 | Battery | Battery 2 reports itself as faulty |
| 17-05 | Battery | Battery 3 reports itself as faulty |
| 17-06 | Battery | Battery 4 reports itself as faulty |
| 17-07 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor reports itself as faulty |
| 17-08 | Gears | The gear unit reports itself as faulty |
| 17-0A | Charger | The charger reports itself as faulty |
| 17-0B | Lock | The lock reports itself as faulty |
| 18-00 | Control unit | The remote failed to start up |
| 18-01 | Motor | The motor failed to start up |
| 18-02 | Display | The display failed to start up |
| 18-03 | Battery | Battery 1 failed to start up |
| 18-04 | Battery | Battery 2 failed to start up |
| 18-05 | Battery | Battery 3 failed to start up |
| 18-06 | Battery | Battery 4 failed to start up |
| 18-07 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor failed to start up |
| 18-08 | Gears | The gear unit failed to start up |
| 18-0A | Charger | The charger failed to start up |
| 18-0B | Lock | The lock failed to start up |
| 19-xx | Control unit | Security fault in the remote |
| 1A-01 | Speed sensor | The system suspects the speed sensor has been tampered with |
| 1A-02 | Speed sensor | The system cannot find the speed sensor and suspects tampering |
| 1B-xx | System | Wrong system voltage, often because the wrong battery is fitted |
| 1C-xx | Connectivity module | Fault in the bike’s Bluetooth module |
| 1D-xx | System | The bike is in a special mode (EMS) not meant for normal use |
| 1E-xx | System | The bike is in a special mode (OEM) not meant for normal use |
| 1F-xx | System | The bike is in a special mode (TEST) not meant for normal use |
| 20-xx | Battery | The battery has switched to reserve mode |
| 21-xx | Lock | Fault in the lock |
| 22-xx | Battery | Not a fault: the battery charges to full to calibrate, even with Long Life mode on |
| 23-09 | Sensor | The battery in the front tyre pressure sensor is low |
| 23-0A | Sensor | The battery in the rear tyre pressure sensor is low |
| 23-0B | Sensor | The battery in the front right tyre pressure sensor is low |
| 23-0C | Sensor | The battery in the rear right tyre pressure sensor is low |
| 23-xx | Sensor | Fault in a tyre pressure sensor |
| 24-01 | Charger | The charger cannot charge several batteries at once |
| 25-xx | Communication | Fault on the 1-Wire line that links parts of the system |
| 26-xx | Lock | Fault in the battery lock |
| 29-xx | Display | The display has a communication fault |
| 2A-xx | Display | Software fault in the display |
| 2B-xx | Display | The display failed the authenticity check |
| 2C-xx | Display | Internal fault in the display |
| 2D-xx | Display | The system does not recognise the display |
| 2E-01 | Display | The display is too hot and has dimmed its screen |
| 48-xx | Motor | The motor is not responding |
| 49-07 | Battery | The motor reports that the battery is not ready |
| 49-09 | Gears | A shift lever is pressed or stuck |
| 49-0A | Gears | A shift lever is pressed or stuck |
| 49-0B | Motor | The motor has detected that the Pinion unit was replaced |
| 49-0C | Speed sensor | The motor suspects tampering with the speed reading |
| 49-0D | Lights | Motor fault, usually a short circuit in the lights |
| 49-xx | Motor | Other motor fault |
| 4A-xx | Motor | The motor is at the wrong temperature, usually too hot |
| 4B-xx | Speed sensor | Fault in the speed sensor the motor uses |
| 4C-xx | Torque sensor | Fault in the torque sensor that measures how hard you pedal |
| 4D-01 | Gears | Gear fault caused by a bug in the motor software |
| 4D-03 | Gears | The gearbox cannot shift for walk assist while there is pressure on the pedals |
| 4D-08 | Gears | The gearbox needs to recalibrate and needs you to stop and ease off the pedals |
| 4D-11 | Gears | Shifting is blocked for one minute |
| 4D-xx | Gears | Other gearbox fault |
| 4E-xx | Cadence sensor | Fault in the sensor that measures your cadence |
| 4F-xx | Motor | The motor failed the authenticity check |
| 51-01 | Motor | Voltage fault between motor and battery |
| 51-02 | Motor | Voltage fault between motor and battery |
| 52-02 | Gears | The gears need calibrating |
| 52-03 | Gears | The gears need calibrating |
| 52-xx | Sensor | Fault in an angle sensor in the motor |
| 53-xx | Motor | Software fault in the motor |
| 67-01 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-03 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-05 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-06 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-0A | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-0B | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-11 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-12 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-15 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery |
| 67-02 | Battery | Voltage fault in the battery, probably too low |

| 8B-xx | Gears | The gear unit failed the authenticity check |
| 8C-06 | Gears | The gears need calibrating |
| 8C-xx | Gears | Hardware fault in the gear unit |
| 95-xx | Charger | Software fault in the charger |
| 96-xx | Charger | Voltage fault in the charger |
| 97-xx | Charger | Current fault in the charger |
| 98-xx | Charger | The charger is too hot |
| 9A-xx | Lock | The lock failed the authenticity check |
| 9B-xx | Lock | The lock is jammed |
| 9C-xx | Lock | Hardware fault in the lock |
| 9D-xx | Lock | The lock detected movement |
