Panasonic error codes
The Side Display shows a warning icon with a code (W-M1, W-B3 …) or an error code E-00x; several faults appear as a list, such as “M2 B1 S1”. Older Panasonic displays (around 2017) show short codes like E1–EF, or “000” blinking in the speed field.
Trolda cannot read Panasonic motors yet. The code list is here to help you anyway.
No code matches. Check that you typed it exactly as the display shows it.
Side Display – warning icon

| W-M1 / W-M2 | Motor | The motor is overloaded or too hot and gives less assist to protect itself |
| W-M3 | Communication | The display can’t reach the drive unit |
| W-B1 / W-B2 | Battery | The battery is overloaded or too hot, so assist is reduced |
| W-B3 | Battery | Communication with the battery is failing |
| W-C1 | Motor | Fault in the drive unit (motor) |
| W-S1 | Speed sensor | The speed sensor isn’t getting a proper signal |
| W-U1 | System | The USB socket’s protection has tripped |
Side Display – other faults

| E-00E | Control unit | Fault in a key component; often the walk assist button is held in |
| E-00F | Software | Software fault in the drive unit |

Older displays (around 2017)

| E1 | Torque sensor | The system was switched on while someone was pedalling |
| E3 | Battery | The battery isn’t recognised as the bike’s original battery |
| E5 | Display | The display (console) isn’t found or accepted; the backlight blinks |
| E6 | Torque sensor | Fault in the torque sensor that measures your pedalling |
| E7 | Torque sensor | A more serious fault in the torque sensor that measures your pedalling |
| E8 | Motor | Fault in the motor’s Hall sensor (tracks the motor’s rotation) |
| E9 | Motor | Fault in the motor unit |
| Ec | Speed sensor | Fault in the speed sensor or its cable |
| EF | Software | The motor software update failed |
| 000 | Speed sensor | “000” blinks as the speed: the speed sensor has no signal and the motor gives no assist |
